General Properties -  Dusty is a big, powerful bitch.  She was shown at approximately 62 pounds.  Despite her size, she is a very clean, well-proportioned bitch, not coarse or overdone in any way.  She is an exceptionally sound, strong moving animal with excellent reach and drive.  From the front, her movement is straight and true and right off the shoulder; her rear movement is correct and she has a great roll.  She is beautifully balanced and naturally stacks herself square with her head up.  She is solid white, with excellent pigment which appeared very early. S he has a good, healthy coat with no allergies or skin problems.  She is confident and dignified in the ring; outgoing when meeting strangers.  She is somewhat territorial about her home, and is an excellent watchdog who takes her responsibilities seriously.  She was an outstanding mother who took complete charge of her puppies but thoroughly enjoyed human assistance.

Head -  Dusty has her mother’s and her grandmother’s heads.  She has a very clean, classic English look with perfect brick shape and excellent length of skull.  She has a deep stop which runs the entire length of the skull.  She has a strong foreface, well rounded cheeks, and a wide well turned jaw which buttons up perfectly with no teeth showing.  Her eyes are almost black, round and properly set; she has no eye problems of any kind.  Her ears are small and set well on her skull, but slightly thicker than ideal.  Her layback is virtually flawless.  She has a proper nose with exceptionally wide nostrils and an excellent throat and palate.

Body  -  Dusty has outstanding rib, chest, shoulder and brisket; she is broad-shouldered, heavy-boned, and deep-chested, with beautiful tuckup.  She has a strong, beautifully arched neck.  She is medium backed with a fair topline – she could use slightly more roach.  She has a medium length, correctly set tail with no tail problems of any kind.  Her forelegs and elbows are sound and strong, and she has neat small feet.  She has strong hindquarters, well-muscled with nice angulation.

As a pup, Dusty was Best Puppy Bitch at Long Island Bulldog Club Specialty Match under Mary Hayes, and Best Puppy Bitch at the BCA Division I Specialty Match under Mary French Hall.  She has ten points and generally won her class or placed at specialties.  Unfortunately, she got too big – and she was being shown right after the ‘92 Nationals in our Division, when the number of bitches required for majors was so high that small majors for big girls were almost impossible to find.

Her Background

Dusty’s sire was CH DEYDEL STEADFAST HERCULES, a BCA Hall of Fame stud who sired 13 champions.  He was a short-backed, well balanced dog with a beautiful head and jaw, strong rear, excellent rib, shoulders and chest and a good tail.  Both his parents are in the Hall of Fame, as is one grandsire.  Dusty’s mom produced 2 champions; another five pups were pointed.  She was a sound, balanced bitch with a spectacular "English-style" head and great movement.

Dusty has two litters and produced three champions.  All have beautiful heads and necks, exceptional fronts and shoulders and exceptionably strong movement.

Her first litter with CH. CHEROKEE DAKOTA ROBERT included CH. RESOLUTE SONRISE RISIN' STAR (Holly), who finished with a specialty major and took several specialty Best of Opposite Sex. Her grand children through Holly are: Ch. Resolute Sonrise Polaris, Ch. Resolute Sonrise Paladin, Ch. Sonrise Resolute Hollyscomet, and Ch. Sonrise Red Maple Starlite.  Holly's littermate Ch Resolute Bettebus Belle Star, who finished with three majors, produced Win-An's Resolute Remington and Win-An's Resolute Hells Bells.  A third sister, Resolute Emma Pauline, produced Ch. Resolute Victoria's Secret.

From her second litter, with CH. RESOLUTE DREADNOUGHT, she produced Ch. Resolute Argonaut, who finished with majors at the Cincinnati Bulldog Club specialty and at the Bulldog Club of New England sponsored backup show which preceded their specialty.  He is the sire of Helfyre's Resolute Funny Girl, Ch. Helfyre's Berkshire Rhapsody, Ch. Helfyre's Fat Chance, Ch. Sochabull Touched By Angels, and Post Hoc Resolute Lucky Break.
